Director of EMU Computer Center Becomes a Member of the Information Technologies and Communications Authority

Director of Eastern Mediterranean University Computer Center Aytaç Çerkez has been appointed as an executive board member to the Information Technologies and Communications Authority by the President of the TRNC. The Information Technologies and Communication Authority has been established for the purpose of ensuring all the stakeholders in the industry work in harmony, balance and communication with each other. The Authority is run by the Board, which is composed of seven members including the Chairman and the Vice Chairman.

Who is Aytaç Çerkez?

Born in Famagusta in 1969, he obtained his undergraduate degree from Eastern Mediterranean University Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department in 1992 and his postgraduate degree from the same department in 1995. As part of his PhD studies, he worked as a research assistant on computer networks between 1995 and 2000. He worked as an engineer on projects, internet services and computer networks in Eastern Mediterranean University's Computer Center between 2000 and 2003. He fulfilled his military service in 2003 and worked at Eastern Mediterranean University's Computer Center as the Chief of the Project Support and Internet Services Unit between 2004 and 2008. He has been providing services as the director of Eastern Mediterranean University Computer Center since 2008. He holds international network trainer certificates in Network Administration and Information Technologies Service Management. He also served as a member of Kamunet Supreme Board and Telecommunications Supreme Board between 2008 and 2011. He is married and has a child.
