Eastern Mediterranean University has finalized the preparations for the 2014-2015 Academic Year Spring Semester Graduation Ceremony which will take place at EMU Stadium at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 15 July. During the ceremony, over 2000 students will graduate from their respective programs.
Graduation Celebrations in EMU
Stating the importance of bidding farewell to the students as well as welcoming them, Vice Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Hıfsiye Pulhan put forth that a Graduation Reception for graduating students and their families will take place at the Rector's Office Pool Area at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, 13 July 2015. All academic units, administrators, President and members of the Board of Trustees and members of the Rector's Office will be celebrating graduates' success at the aforesaid organization.
At 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 14 July 2015, a graduation ceremony rehearsal will take place at EMU Stadium. Following the completion of the rehearsal, graduates will take part in a "Torchlight Procession" commencing at Famagusta Academy for Development at 8:30 p.m. and ending at the Rector's Office. Prof. Dr. Pulhan added that through the torchlight procession, students will bid farewell to the city symbolically.
Increasing Number of Graduates
With the graduation of over 2000 students, the number of Eastern Mediterranean University's alumni will reach 44,000. Graduates from 43 nationalities will start their new lives at different locations of the world following their graduation on 15 July 2015. Prof. Dr. Pulhan stated that each graduate will contribute to the promotion of the university by acting as a honorary representative of the institution during the next phase of their lives.
